Intelligent tools that deliver

The use of AI in assessment has the potential to transform exam processes. The eSystem’s AI module is enabling institutions to rethink marking and feedback for written exams.

It harnesses AI to streamline time-consuming, labour-intensive tasks. Resulting in faster, more manageable marking and feedback that can be delivered at scale, all while retaining full control.

At the core of the module is an AI-assisted marking and feedback tool designed to support human markers. Acting as a digital assistant, it suggests marks and detailed feedback for written responses along with a justification. Examiners review, amend, and approve all outputs, ensuring academic judgment remains central to the marking process.  In addition, AI-assisted marking is available for very short answer (VSA) questions. Where AI suggests scores for unique responses, while human markers decide to accept or amend.

Traffic-light confidence indicators highlight responses that require additional attention, helping teams prioritise review and work more efficiently.

As a result, detailed, personalised feedback can be delivered to students quickly and consistently, giving clearer insight into performance and supporting learning and improvement.

Alongside this, the AI module includes an Automated AI Marking evaluation tool. This allows institutions to test, compare, and quality-assure AI models in a controlled environment before use in live exams. Using test data and model answers, AI outputs can be reviewed, compared with human marking and assessed for suitability in supporting markers.

Utilising the latest AI technology, assessment teams spend less time on routine marking and more time on review, moderation and quality assurance. Resulting in an enhanced experience for candidates.
