Rather than replacing human examiners, AI-Assisted marking acts as a powerful support tool. AI analyses responses against defined marking criteria, suggest marks and feedback whilst giving a justification and confidence indicator to help human markers. Human markers review and can decide to accept, amend or reject AI suggestions.  This can significantly reduce the time and administrative effort involved in marking large volumes of written answers.
